About us

Ossendot Umweltschutz GmbH was founded by the brothers Dr. Friedrich and Dr. Ralf Ossendot in 1972 and today looks back on more than 50 years of tradition. In the early years, the company's activities focused on the operation of excavation sites and the recycling of the extracted materials as part of a building materials trade.

In 1974, von Eerde & Ossendot GmbH was founded, which was renamed in 1991 to become today's Eyller-Berg Abfallbeseitigungsgesellschaft mbH. Its field of activity is the excavation of the Eyller-Berg and its subsequent refilling.

In 1994, Chemo-Consulting GmbH was founded to provide consulting and analysis services in the environmental sector.

In the 1980s, the focus of the Group's activities changes. In 1983, the competent authority grants Eyller-Berg Abfallbeseitigungsgesellschaft mbH, as the operator, a permit for the construction and operation of a waste disposal plant at the Eyller-Berg site. Ossendot Umweltschutz GmbH takes over the utilization of the landfill, which is operated by Eyller-Berg Abfallbeseitigungsgesellschaft mbH until 31.12.2022.

The Eyller-Berg landfill has been in the decommissioning phase since 01.01.2023 and is being recultivated in accordance with legal and official requirements. According to current planning, 5 ha are to be completed by 30.06.2026. A schedule for the recultivation of the remaining areas of approx. 7 ha is currently being drawn up and coordinated with the approval authorities.

An open-air photovoltaic system is planned for areas of around 7.8 ha that have already been recultivated. As recultivation progresses, further areas will be included in the planning and utilization concept.

Today, Ossendot Umweltschutz GmbH is involved in waste disposal consulting, waste management for third parties and waste trading, as well as focusing on the recultivation of the Eyller-Berg landfill and the utilization of its extensive real estate portfolio.
